Doug Cobbledick – Nathalia – Life Member
Nominated by Nathalia Centre
13 years involvement with Nathalia Centre and 13 years involvement to the Northern Country Region.
Doug is extremely passionate about grouping athletics and developing fundamental skills for all little athletes not only at centre level, but also at Region level. Therefore, he has been instrumental in obtaining numerous grants for the NCR Region across his time on the committee.
Doug is focused on upskilling volunteers across all centres, with the flow on effect of developing all little athletes to reach their potential.
The use of some of these grants has allowed the NCR Region to host “Coach the Coach” type sessions in conjunction with Little Athletics Victoria and Athletics Victoria. These sessions have been well attended and appreciated by all centres.
The grants have provided volunteers with coaching courses and no out of pocket expenses, making the courses inclusive for all.
Doug has unselfishly continued his commitment to Nathalia centre and the Region during years when his own children did not participate in Little Athletics.
Doug is a frequent Nathalia delegate at State conference and has been Nathalia’s delegate to Region meetings. He has played fundamental roles at Region events through officiating and is often first to arrive and last to leave.
Doug works tirelessly behind the scenes and is quite humble about his contributions.
We believe Doug is very worthy of being awarded Life Membership of Northern Country Region.
